New Delhi, Jan 10: In what is being seen as another push for Rahul ‘s appointment as Congress president, Sonia Gandhi will keep away from the party’s ‘Jan Vedana Sammelan’ (People’s Pain Conference) at Talkatora Stadium on Wednesday. Congress president will stay away from this event just to ensure that Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi presides over the political conference of the party against demonetisation. This conference has been organised to protest against the note ban, which has allegedly caused pain to common people.
According to sources, Sonia is keeping away from the Jan Vedana Sammelan as a tactical move so that her son gets his moment of glory. ‘Jan Vedana Sammelan’ will be a day long event. This is being organised to highlight the ‘pain’ caused to the common man, the farmers, the labourers and the small businessmen due to the decision of the NDA Government to demonetise old currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000.
