Has Rahul Gandhi ended up scoring a self goal yet again? Will the so-called and much-vaunted Rahul Gandhi’s earthquake be counterproductive for the Congress party? These are the questions being asked now after Congress Vice President at his rally in Mehsana accused Narendra Modi of taking crores from the Sahara Group when he was the chief minister of Gujarat.
He read out nine entries with specific dates on which Modi was allegedly paid money. Gandhi claimed that Income Tax department has access to Sahara Group’s ‘diary’, which contains records of these nine payments made by the group to Narendra Modi over six months. But there is another entry in the purported Sahara papers which Rahul Gandhi chose to ignore. The name is that of former Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit.
With Rahul Gandhi having suggested that the Congress is going to make Sahara/Birla papers a big issue to attack Prime Minister Narendra Modi in upcoming UP elections, the name of Sheila Dikshit purported to be there in the Sahara documents is going to embarrass the grand old party. Rahul Gandhi would be expected to answer on the name of Dikshit featuring in the list of those who were allegedly given bribe.
