1st yr of Modi govt marks advent of ‘good times’, gets thumbs up from India Inc

The survey, done by Businessworld-C Voter exclusively covered India Inc (Large companies), Midcap (big and small companies), SME (Small and Medium Enterprises) and HNIs (High networth individuals) for comprehensive view of the industry on 1 year of governance.
Cutting across sections, the industry leaders have welcomed Make in India initiative, FDI hike in insurance and amendments to companies act. Overall, India Inc feels that the Modi is delivering on his big poll promises, taking them on one by one and the nation may be witnessing ‘good times’ in a couple of years if Modi continues to walk the talk.
Notably, the PM had said, “When we meet in 2019, I will give you and my countrymen a report card.”
Moreover, with commencement of second year, Modi government will enter its critical midlife. Investments it makes now and undertakes in the coming year will determine its re-election chances in 2019.
However, there were some issues which could cast a shadow on governance, however they ended up denting the image of Modi government. US raised concerns over ‘religious intolerance’ while ‘Communal rants’ by BJP leaders, RSS affiliates and the bottleneck created by Opposition during Budget session gave the government a hard time.
